Default overlapping spheres problem

Hi there:

When there are two spheres overlapping, How can I make the inner part of them (the overlapping part) disappear and keep only their non-overlapping part, like forming a 3D number eight shape.

Thank you.

I think you need to use the boolean operation called 'union'.

Create both spheres in modeler, one in layer one and one in layer two. In the second layer, shift the sphere into position so that you have the number eight type of look you were talking about.

Select the second layer, and make sure that the first layer is in the background, it'll be black when it is. Then press Shift-b. This will bring up the Boolean CSG options, choose union, then click ok. This will join both spheres together, and get rid of the overlapping bit in the middle. The finished thing will be in the second layer.

Hope this helps.
