Question Katerina WIP

Hi all. yes its another wip. I am trying to model a human female again. Here's what I've got so far.
No real textures yet just a front projection of my reference pic. About 6 hours so far. Any comments, tips or suggestions?

For some reason, the renders seem to be thinner although it matches up perfectly in modeller??? Here's the origninal ref.

heh, maybe you have the backgroundf image squashed? I always get stuck up on small stuff like that.

Looking really nice. I'm just wondering if your problem with the squashed face might have something to do with the way the camera is set up in Lightwave as opposed to in real life. That's the only thing I can think of that might be causing the problem you've got. The model is very sound though - its a nice representation of the person you're aiming it to look like. May I ask where the reference is from?

AverageJoe: it ain't squashed, I set it up using 1 mm per pixel and kept it proportional. It looks fine in modeller but not in the render. Hey thanks, I think I just worked it out. The head is over a meter in size. No wonder there is paralax affecting the image.......

Fallenswordman: Thanks man. The ref is one of the newest additions to www.3D.sk. They have pretty good refs for the cost.

Hi all. I still don't really know why it looked squashed but I think I have fixed it. Here is a small update. Now on with the texturing (none yet). Followed by the body.....

Thx Fallenswordsman. I have been short of time and have several projects on the go but this one is going to take priority for now.
Is it just me or does anyone else think her eyes are too big?

I have done some more tweeking and moved away from the boyish look (I hope). I originally intended to create a copy of the reference model but I really wanted something different or A La Stahlberg (not that I could even hope to compare my work).

I am now ready to start the real textures on the face and get into the body and rigging.

On with the body.
Sorry to all you perverts out there but this one doesn't call for nudity (At the moment anyway). I'm sure the imagination would be better than my modelling anyway!

I have decided that I am the slowest organic modeller on the planet. 90% of the head in 6 hours then 20+ hours of mucking around till I was sort of happy. This is only my third human and the first two were really ugly so I guess its progress.:o
