Default Hey everybody

Just wanted 2 say whats up...
Im pretty new to Lightwave but lookin to really get into it as a profession.
Im pretty young and was thinkin about goin 2 college for 3D animation or sumthin along those lines
cuz I want to get into making games and movies and so on.
So I guess Im kinda curious of what training some of u have had and how long u all have been doin this cuz I see alot of good work on the forums.

Any tips on where to go to learn more would be greatly appreciated.
Keep up the good work everybody

First of all, Yo, welcome to SLW!!!

Second, I personally haven't learned Lightwave through the help of a book (not including the manual). I just sort of started... I went on the net, did a a lot of tutorials and came along to SLW, did the tuts here and then practiced and built my skills from wherever i was.

Come down to the challenge forum, u can learn loads there!!! Or... u could just do some WIP's every now and then and learn stuff there!

Here's some advice:

While you're saving up for the VIP tutorials, check out all the free ones you can, and once you get the hang of lightwave, check out the maya and max ones as well.

You would not believe how often I'm watching a tutorial video, of something simple, and suddenly go, "hey, i can use that to do...", or while working on a model, realize an easier way to go about doing something (like the extender tool. how long did i go about creating points manually, then linking them manully, just to acheive the same effect...)

^_^;

Yes lots of good advice from our forum members.

I would say try the free tutorials here. Ask questions here we always try and answer.
