Hi, im just about to start my 1st animation at Uni and im trrying to create a take of scene for a rocket, so i need lots of smoke and a bright burning flame, i need the smoke to shoot out from the bottom and react with the ground so that the smoke looks real, if anybody knows a good was of creating this or even a site which has a tut i would be very grateful,
i have looked at the tut on this site for Jet-exzast, but i need somthin a bit more realastic. cheers ![]() here is a few pics that show what im aiming at ![]() |

No tuts from me, but I know that this should be fairly easy 2 accomplish....if U are handy with particle_emitters or hypervoxels. Are U? Also U need a groundsurface where the particles can react 2.
Plugins which give great results are Dynamic_Realities_pyro or D_R_napalm, unfortunately I'm not 2 familiar with the use of them, but on their site they give quite good tutorials.. Hope U can do something with the info. Greetz, T |

cheers guys, im just starting the ground and im pretty bad at textures, im wanting to create a sort of powder like sand texture for my mars surface, somthin that is orange red, maybe even burnt in places, im new to lightwave anybody think they know how to create this with the surface editor ??

Found an easy texture solution, tell me if you need the image 4 image procedural bump (texture editor). Here's 2 renders with Fprime.
Ignore the marslander-he's just for shadows. Greetz, T |

thx Tsunami for helping me out, im working on the texture at the moment ill have a pic of it up soon, i got to get all the written stuff out the way 1st before i get into the computer side, but hopefully that will be done in the next week

I know zeeman, this texture was just 4 the sandy bit. Ad an extra bumplayer like smokey and you have a perfect start. Add the rocks tut from above and Houston...you're go.

Try this link: http://cinema.milkywaypictures.com/Rocket3.avi It's a rough setup 4 a rocketlaunch, Codec is in DivX5, file size around 1.3 Meg. Quality is not as great as I would like it to appear, but otherwise the file would have been 110Meg, maybe a bit 2 much 4 a simple example. If U like it let me know and I'll send U the scenefile, so U can alter the setting yourself. Hope U like it. T.

Tsunami that is great, i would like it if u could send me that file, i would like 2 have a look at how you did it, im pretty new to particles and i always find it easier to look at somthin that is done and slowly break it down, then i can try and create me own ver
