Default SubPatches or faces

ok im know what they are , but i was woundering in wut kind of situations(cant spell) you would use them in. or a genaral rule of thumb for witch one to use, because i get confused with witch one i should be using where.


btw im rubbsh at english and spelling :o

Hmm... well I don't really think there is a correct answer to this apart from "Whatever looks right"...

.. well, generally you'll find that regular polygons will give you better response times in modeller/layout, so if you can get away with using them, great. You'll also find modelling to an exact shape probably easier with polys too.

However, that said - subpatches are great if you need to do organic modelling, or really need that ultra-smooth finish to a surface to add that final level of realism...
