hehe, looks nice. too bad, the shadows are so sharp. it would look nice if you gave them some softer edges.
did you do the motionblur in photoshop or with lightwave? |

If you can, I'd try and see if you can get the motion blur to bunt up to the dog/car a little more since the sudden sharpness of the ground and the wall behind these elements detracts from the image.

It is a nice image but i think the blur is causing more problems that it fixes.
You have two options that I see for the motion blur that might help here. Do the blur in LW :- From what I can see the look you are going for is the blurred background. This gives the impression that the camera is following the car/dog. To get this affect in LW you could set the scene up and parent the camera to the car. Then animate the car and dog at the same speed so the background moves and causes the blur. This should also affect the shadows etc correctly. The only downside to this is LW's motion blur is not great. Do the blur in PS :- It looks like you are just lassoing the bits you want to blur and then applying a motion blur. Technically there is nothing wrong with this but it can be a little hard to get close to all the bits you want to blur and you get sharp edges mixed with blurred edges and it looks a little odd. So what I would suggest here is to render in 2 passes. First render the Background then render the dog and car etc with an alpha layer. Then open these up in PS and using the layers you can easily blur the BG while not affecting the car and dog etc. I am no expert in this but I hope that helps you out in some way. BTW nice use of Morphi ![]() Cheers |

I shall try,
concerning Morphi, it is a wonderful book for those want to learn high level character's modeling. For the dog i was inspired by the simplymaya's free tute Cartoon Dog : http://www.simplymaya.com/movie_page...html?tut_id=87 There are great tute on the other simply sites. |

Sorry,
It doesn't work. :headbang: I've tried with photoshop but the alpha layer shows only the difference between the sky and the other things. |

I think TheFreak wanted you to render the car with the two aliens and the dog and save the image, but also save the alpha layer, then, using Photoshop magic, Blur everithing except what si masked by the Alpha layer.
I don't exactly know how it's done ( been a bit lazy with Photoshop ![]() Good luck! :attn:
