Default Character: Bruce Lee (ish)

Hey Folks,
Uni is back in full swing and so am I (sort of) - This is a character I'm working on for a new project. He's supposed to be a cartoony Bruce Lee, but I'm not very good at turning people into cartoon characters.

I'd adjust the apparent weight of the legs and upper torso to begin with. Also, from your concept I'd lessen the puffiness of the cheeks.

From what I recall of Bruce Lee (it's been a while since I've seen one of his movies), he was a fairly scrawny individual - built like a brick sh*thouse, but a very, very narrow one :lmao:

So, lose a little bit of the thickness on the model you've got so far and I think you're onto a winner...

Cheers for the advice Mark, I've put him on the Atkins diet and it appears to be showing results already! Needs a bit more definition, but im off to the football now so I'll do it when I get back

Definitely looking very good for such a low number of polygons (curse you - I wish I could do that!). No real crits so far.

Cheers, for the comments - Haven't done much as I've been drowning my sorrows after Scotlands pitiful performance in the world cup qualifiers on Saturday but I'm going to start work on his features tonight.

Not happy with this at the moment, may go back a few saves and try again, I'll tweak about and see what I can do first though...

Hmm... there's nothing too 'wrong' about it, but there is something that just doesn't quite gel. I'd be tempted to concentrate on the area around the mouth/chin - I can't quite put my finger on it, but they don't quite look 100% yet...

I'm not an expert on characature either so I don't know how valid a crit I can make here, but hopefully I can prod things in some sort of direction....To me the fringe for his hair looks a bit high..it could be brought down to almost meet his eyebrows. I think Brucey's cheeks were a bit more sunken as well...but still, its looking a lot better than I could do.

Commiserations on the World Cup qualifiers...

Hey Mark & FallenSwordsman,

Thanks for the advice, you guys are being a great help to me on this.
I've done a bit of spinning here and there, pulled in the cheeks, pulled down the hairline and pulled up his scalp to exaggerate it, also thinned down the face in general, I don't know why I keep modeling things chubby! Anyways, heres the progress, not great but better than it was by a long shot.
