Default plymouth car with procedurals

hey I havn't posted in a long time as i've been busy, just a quick udate, I currently am goin to the DAVE (digital animation and visual effects) school in orlando FL and am LOVING it and all you should go! anyways its a 1 year course and they really cram everything they can into our tiny brains, this is my 5th or 6th project within 4 weeks and we had 2 days to completely texture this junkyard scene with an image map on every object and then procedurals, the models were provided and not made by me, I only textured it, just lookin for some critique on my texturing skills, I have provided a total view of the scene and then a screenshot of my pride and joy, the plymouth car, also I texture the bottom right corner in the overall scene, meaning all the object around the car, my teamates did the left side and background and I think they did awesome jobs

EDIT : I put this into the WIP forums because to me it is far from finished and I am looking to make my texturing much more fullfilling

Very nice.

A few crits I have though. Firstly, with the main scene - the textures on the ground and buildings show a distinct procedural look to them. I'd tink about layering some extra detail onto them to help break them up somewhat.

Also, since it's supposed to be a junkyard/wasteground scene, it all looks a little too 'clean' - you need to get some dirt around the surface junctions to add that real-world look.

On the car itself - a superb texturing job. The pattern of dents along the door again suffers from the procedural look the same as the rest of the scene, but that's about all I'd think about sorting out on that front.

Good effort.

thanks for the comments, the first thing that is a huge sign of cg are the rocks not blending with the dirt but the ground and buildings weren't my part, but yeah I deffinately will try to have more falloff on the dents so that they arn't so cluttered around the door

I think the lightning could use some more work. The pictures lacks depth at the moment because al objects are blending in with each other. Try to put the lights on the right places so the shadows are more visible and so getting more depth in the image.
I also would change the color of the light.

Maybe use one purple of green light to light the overall scene. ( if you use a purple light the skycolor should be changed also ) And use an slightly yellow light that creates the shadows.

Not sure if that works, but you could try it.

Hope it helps you. The rest of the scene is looking very good.
