I usually render objects, logos for my work and I did not give much attention on lighting in Lightwave cause I usually creating my final composition using After Effects. Now, when my work needs a more natural looking starfilter it won't render an alpha on my test render. Any help pls.

Under the Image Processing choose Add Image Filter and select Flare2Alpha. That should do the trick.
