Default my drums

Hi guys

Im working on my drums

I'm almost finished with the snare drum

Here's a test render. I will work some more on the textures but I'm already there ... the drumsticks suck and it seems there's an ugly seem ... that wood is not easy to get right ...

Very nice start. You're right about some of the textures needing a bit of work but the modelling looks great. Well done.

Great stuff, I like the texture on the head. If I could add a critique or two, as well as the texture, the sticks look too thin. Also the lugs look over long and too thin as well.

Is the sides of the drum a flat silver or should it reflect of chrome? My old roommates drums were black and glossy as hell.

I think it is chrome. When it is silver I'm selling it this afternoon

I have to tweak the lighting and shading of the material. I think I'm going to render this with LW and not FPrime, cause of the pixeled edges.

This is a picture of the (dirty ) original.

And another WIP.

I adjusted the size of the sticks and tweaked the textures.

I think I will use a map for the skin.

Thank you guys for the help and tips !

I'll post some more in a while ...
