Default face muscles

Does lightwave let you apply weights to muscles (like a face) and then it can be tweaked via a mixer?

Not morphs.

Well, I'm not aware of any inbuilt muscle deformation tools in Lightwave - I suspect you'll need to get project messiah for that sort of thing. However, you may want to take a look at this NewTek tutorial on creating object deformation cages in layout. This may give you some of the functionality you're looking for.
