Its possible you've got some 2 point polys stuck in your mesh. Select them in the info window and delete them.

OK, the wire shows you have points where 5 polys come into a single point. You need to get rid of these. The points in question have too great a weighting , thus sharpening the points/edges close to them.

Basically, all subpatched surfaces should have a total of pur patches to a point unless on a flat area otherwise there will be too great a weight added to the mesh at that point.

All i can say is,,, Mark is right,,, And also,,, spin quads, and remember that you can merge some polys after a few times, They look like a square split up into 2 triangles. You have one there.

Switch to Flat Shade. You won't see the mistakes in that mode an I think you will not see them in the final render, too :>.

Hi,
I have a similar problem, I only just got Lightwave last weekend and I'm doing the head modelling tutorial. But i seem to be having a problem when I go into sub-patch mode it firstly says something about only 3 or 4 points, so I go back and and adjust it, like merge some points but then something weird happens when i go back to sub-patch mode. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

its just like mark said. u can't have more than 4 polygons touching. they can only make like and X, if you have the tips of 5 polygons coming to one piont then that will happen. when ur editng make sure your not in sub-patch mode for some reason it will mess up. so keep it in regular mode and make sure that no more than 4 polygons are are intersecting. im probable just gonna restart mine keeping that in mind. its just a pain in the butt. lol
