Default Motion Tracker

No doubt most of you will hopefully recognize this from the film "Aliens". I haven't managed to find too many references for it but I've hopefully got enough images to detail all angles. You hardly get to see a great deal of this in the film itself so screen caps from there are very little use.
This is my second attempt having ditched my spline modelled version - although it was arguably a more accurate model, it was just taking me forever to create so, with a quick conflab with Mark, I decided to box model it and have gotten a lot further, a lot quicker for it. Still got plenty of detail to add to the basic mesh though.

A working screen on the finished model with a little animation of the blobs comeing to get you would AWSOME.

Great start on the model.

Looking good there Fallenswordsman. Nice clean lines...

You realise though that once this is done, you're going to have to model the Smartgun and the Remote Autocannons too

Actually, I was thinking of doing the Smartgun but I'll see how this goes first. I've ordered the Colonial Marines Technical Manual secondhand for reference so you may well expect more Aliens models from me after this one. I might do the welder as well since it should be pretty straightforward.

@Johnny9ball - Not too good with animation, but could be quite a nice little challenge with all them green blobs

Thanks for all comments - updates soon!

Okay just a small update although the modelling process has taken me quite some time. I've added a few of the more minor details and corrected some parts of the mesh that I had erroneously extruded. Its slowly coming together now. The next bit I'm going to concentrate on is the base which is probably going to be the hardest piece to model.
