Default Liquids

I’m making a scene that has an object filled with a liquid. At the moment I have got an spot light aiming down on my object and i have the camera angled in such a way that i can see the floor and my object. For some reason i am not able to see the liquid unless I put a white back ground or use and image world. Does any one know how i can do this with out turning up the luminosity or the defuse on my object.

Do you have ray trace transparency or ray trace refraction on? If so, you may need to turn the ray recursion limit up in the render options panel (or you may even have to slightly bump up/down the refractive index of your liquid.

Post the scene and object files here so we can take a better look.

ok i will have to give that a go, i only have the recursion limit set to 6 to speed things along, i also have the refractive index set to 1.33 which is water. Thanks for the help
