Default Need a little help

Hi all. I'm modeling a simple bottle (nothing near as complex as the Jack bottle, more like a glass cola bottle) and want to emboss a logo on the neck of it.
Here is my newbie question for you: how do I bend or wrap the logo around to follow the contour of the bottle? The neck also tapers a little, but I don't want to get ahead of myself, small victories will keep me sane. Any advice or tutorials of how I can learn this technique is appreciated.

there is the tutorial on philips website that shows you how to make the jack daniels bottle that has the neck wrap bit i will find the link for you

"For the front label I added a new Endomorph I called "MorphMapping" (or "MappingMorph", can't remember, whee) and bent the side parts to the front. Then I created a new planar UV-Map in Z-Direction. Just set the Endomorph back to "base" and the label fits snugly against the bottle again."

Is this the section of the tutorial that you are referring to? If I use the Endomorph method will I then be able to bevel/extrude the logo to create a embossed effect? Please excuse my ignorance. And thanks for the quick reply.

O.k., a few screens coming up. The actual logo is a little more complex than this but I should be able to get an idea of how to achieve this if it's doable with this star. And again...thanks.

1 -Extrude out your star so that it is thick enough to go through your whole bottle.

2 - Set your Bottle to the front layer and the star to the back layer.

3 - Under Multiply, Choose Solid Drill - Stencil. Set a new surface name for your star.

The star should now be stenciled on the bottle. If you don't want it actually cut into the bottle, just make a copy of your original, do the same steps, and delete everything but the star. you should be left with a 'label' fit to your object. If you need to sub-d, you are going to have to do some work to get your poly's to 3 or 4 point.

Is there any way to actually bend the star so that when it's extruded the whole face sits at the same distance from the bottle?
That worked out fine btw, it just looks distracting because the further you get from the center of the star, the deeper the extrusion is.

Try smooth shift instead of Extrude. If that doesn't work, just copy your star, flip it, and move it where you want it. Then manually connect them with polygons.

Yeah, the way it bends with the bottle is exactly what I'm looking to do. Did you do that in Lightwave?
