Default Aussie bush

Just a small wip to test some of my new tree models. The textures aren't complete yet and the scene is just thrown together but I think they're on the right track ????????

Apart from no bark on the trees it looks very good. Are you using Sasquatch for the grass?

Yep, grass is just very rough SASQuatch. These are actually snow gums which don't have normal bark like you find on most trees. They are almost perfectly smooth with just odd areas of dark flat smooth bark. In fact they don't grow like any other tree I know.
The SAS grass is a lot more illuminated than I would like but I really didn't spend much time on setting this scene up so I guess that's expected.

Hey - great scene! Is that hill in the background all Lightwave as well? How long did it take you to build? And have you built a series of different trees here or are they all the same tree rotated slightly?

here is a cool plugin you can use for the grass.

Answers,
Fallenswordsman: Sorry, the hill in the BG is just a photo to test how it blends. I have built an entire landscape before though but this is really only to test my tree models.Image attached :-)
This scene only contains 2 of my tree models which have been instanced using HD_Instance by happy digital. I am currently working on a CD of better than average trees - the finished product should contain about 200 of various species and also different level of detail for each model. (Thought I would jump in while we are plugging software :-)

dae: Thanks. I have all of Powels' plugs. Unfortunately, grass generator would create somewhere around 4million polys to cover an area this size unless I was looking to only render from one point of view.

well... I know some threes here in Mexico that are very similar to those you made (and describe)... so I must say that it´s a very good and realistic job you´ve done there...

Btw... GREAT JOB MAN!!! looks great... obviously it needs those little details like DOF or stuff like that... but those are very good render and model... good luck with your CD!!
