Default V/line Diesel (train)

Gday everyone. its now holidays for me and i decided to do some work of my own choice so ive knocked together a quick diesel train based on the Vline S310 class we have running down here in Australia.
Still yet to do the undercarriage and texture the body, but ill have that done soon hopefully!!

overall it looks very good ... one thing that you have probably noticed is that crease around the front headlights.

Love the detail are you booleaning?

Oops - read the title incorrectly. I thought it said Vin Diesel. Thankfully, it isn't him. I actually like train models like this and wish we saw more of them. Its nice to see what other parts of the world have as their rolling stock. Its looking nice, but I'd have to agree with R4s1n's comment on the creasing. Are you planning on making the whole train?

Hey guys, thanks for your comments. I've only worked on this train today and i was working off a model sitting on my desk so its still got a lot more detail and corrections to go!
I will hopefully be making the entire train, and im trying to put in as much Australian rolling stock as possible.
Im currently working on the undercarriage/wheel section atm and ill have pix up later tonight or tomorrow.

EDIT: Okay, some updates. Not all the little glitches are fixed,a nd for some reason the renders have large black areas which i cannot explain!!

I really like the detail around the whole wheel area. Certainly shaping up to look pretty smart. There are one or two slightly pinched looking areas - one around the curvature of the windows at the front and one at the curvature of the front of the train closest to us in the most up to date render but I'm sure that should be a fairly easy fix.

to get rid of the black areas try checked the normals are facing the right way if you have double sided turned on and try to get rid of any non planer ones you may have

Fast progress on the wheels and the body. Maybe a wireframe of where you are so far?

okay ive started some texturing. Doig some logos, and the front guard. Still havent got around to fixing any of the creases in the front section. I will probably do that tonight when i have some spare time!!
Here is the wireframe. I dont know why people like wireframes, but youll probably be scared by mine

The texturing looks very nice. Are you going to add a scene? Maybe a train station?

The only reason i look at wireframes is because it shows me how the person goes about his model.

atm im not going to add a scene. as a matter of fact ive already moved on to modelling something totally different!
Over the next 3 weeks (my holidays) im planning on creating a whole host of various models for research for my next Uni project.

I have thought of adding a scene, but i would be creating stock and passenger cars before i attempted a full on station.
Ill just wait and see how busy i am!

Also, i still cant figure out the black spots on the front of the windshielf ot eh train. The polygons are flipped the righr way, ive even tried double sided surfaces just to make sure but it doesnt affect it. It seems to be a shadow problem because rendering without shadows doesnt produce the black spots!
The polygons arent sub-divided or anything they are just normal polygons!

Wow, looks just like I remember. Nice textures and model.

Has something gone wrong by the step? Looks like the blacked out polys strike again....:-(
