Default another character anim Q

i have a basic rig for my character, when i try to animate movements that are more flexible or extreme, i get some wierd popping on the arms and legs between the two key frames.

i have been struggling to find a solution to this, i guess i can attribbute this to gimbal lock but i cant seem to get around it, the only way i found is to create a key for every frame to correct the snapping. i can try to post an anim of what i am talking about if i can find some webspace

but any or tips for better rigs or how to get around this problem

thanks

Ok,,, i think setting the motion options for each bone is a good way to solve the problem,,,, press the m key when you have the bone selected and then set the limits for the Heading Pitch and Bank... this way you can constraint the bones movement. Oh ya one more important thing is to reset the rotation before any animation or IK. If some of the bones are rotated in different direction... then you will have problems like this.

Hope this helps,
Kumar
