Default How to pan!

Hey guys I am now up and rolling in LW . I just finished my first tutorial off of this site(the coffee mug). I do have one question, how do I pan in the individual view ports. I can rotate, and zoom but i cant pan left to right. I can make the object move....but I thought I could pan.....I think I am saying this right. Also how do individually zoom in the view ports, when I zoom it does it in all 4.

Thanks a bunch,

Thomas Hazlett

To pan, hold the Alt key down and drag the window. In the Perspective window it is shift+alt

To set an independant zoom, press 'd' for display properties, under viewports select Individual Zoom for the viewport you want to change.

Default Tutorial

Tahnks for the help on panning and individual zoom.

I have done the coffe mug tutorial, what tutorial would everyone recommend next....I downloaded the fish, and lava lamp.

I wish this site offered the DVDs like on the simplymaya site, I am sure they would be a big hit.

Default DVDs

I see the DVD for the stratocaster, are there anymore?

How would you say the stratocaster would be for a beginner. I think it looks really cool, but I was hoping for a more organic modeling cd......is the McClaren offered in a DVD?

Thanks again, very helpfull forums

Hi OER48,

someone by all means slap me if I am mistaken but as far as I am aware when you tick boxes of tutorials you want you can then decide at the bottom of the page wether you want then written to a DVD for you. Not sure if there is a minimum number of MB's a DVD has to be but I think it costs 3 points.

Good luck and if I were you I would do the Mclaren and try to learn how to do heads as soon as possible..depending on what you want to be doing in the long run!

nice
