Default Can anyonr tell me...........

Hi Everyone,

I want to learn Lightwave and this sure looks like the place to do it, so thats the first thing out of the way.

My main problem is the price of the software, as this will only be a hobby for me. So i have had a look on ebay and there are a few Secondhand educational version for sale. They state that the only differences are the you are not able to make money from using it, and the registration in none transferable to the new owner.

Can anyone tell me if this is true, and would the none transferable registration cause the software not to install on my computer. Lastly would i be breaking any laws by buy this software.

Thanx

Yes, since the registration is non-transferrable, this means that you won't be entitled to any support or upgrades of the software (including bug fixes).

It also means that the seller is actually in breach of their license by even attempting to sell the software.

That said, as long as the dongle is supplied (and they supply the registration code to activate the software), then there should be nothing preventing you installing it.

Hi Mark, thanx for your reply.

I have emailed the seller and they have all the codes 7.5 and the 8.0 upgrade the duo USB dongle, all are boxes as new. There are picures of the goods and all looks good, they have 100% positive feed back and the price is good . The resaon for the sale is the learning curve from 2D to 3D is to great.

I think this is the only way i am going to be able to afford Lightwave. If i did buy it and it turned out the learning curve was to great for me are we saying i will be stuck with it.

Thanx
