Default Texuring Only!

I wish some one had come up with the Good Texturing tutorial. I don't have any problems modeling (Box or Spline Method, poly or sub-d), but my texturing skills are horrible, I know practically nothing. I would like to see good texturing tutorial of a tech stuff. For example: Fully textured Space ship with logo and number on the side. Proper set up of a UV maps, and UV Unwrap. That is why I have Joined this forum. So far I have not seen anything good. I'm sure that I'm not the only one here, who has this problem.

Nail, unfortunately my work with Lightwave doesn't really get much further than tinkering. So far I've managed to produce very little (mainly because my skills suck )

As soon as there is some of displayable quality, you can be sure I'll be posting it up here somewhere.
