I would like to make some nice looking fire coming out of the rockets. I wish i knew how to do it

Fire, I think voxels are the way to do that. Have a look in the presets off LW itself and the ones here on simplylightwave. They can be needing some tweaking, but I guess voxels are the easyest way to make fire.
Well thats the way I should do it.

Looking good!
I would give it a higher sub patch level though.
For the fire you could download the Hypervoxels preset I uploaded to this site, I've used it for blowing fire from a mouth so it should work for a rocket fire too.
You could also use a volumetric light with a fall of and procedural textures, you can make either fire or a sci-fi type jet.
