I was surfing the web and I came across this site.

http://www.theforce.net/scifi3d/

That was my First Exposure to the fact that at home you could actually do 3D work on your home computer I was totally blown away, and instantly hooked.

Back in 1989 I was introduced to a wonderful machine called Amiga A500 running Sculpt 4D and Deluxe Paint II. I couldnt believe my eyes and I just got instantly hooked to that thing. Then I followed the logical steps...Amiga A3000 and Imagine and then Amiga A2000/Video Toaster Combo with LW2.0, soon upgraded to a A4000/Video Toaster. That machine screams at a blazing speed of 40 MHz...lol.
Now 13 years later, Im pleased to see all the wonderful animations and stills made with LW. And its current version is simply amazing. Not to mention its huge community always willing to help you.
I have tried to use different 3D apps but with LW I really feel at home.

I got started when I would take a brake from our IT department to wander over to see what my brother was doing. (For a time we worked for the same company) I would watch him make some models, see the animations he and made. Then he told me he was moving on to a better offer for employment. I knew my chance was at hand!
I came in on my days off to learn from him, some of the basics. Enough to show his boss that I could step in when he left. So that with my art portfolio landed me this job!

Now I come to woek to play with model jet fighters, tanks, hilos! With the ocasional Federation/Klingon or Empire/Rebel battel!

Making all the engineers jealous!

Ive been interested in CG since I got my first computer, that was back in the C64 days. 3D and LightWave in particular caught my interest when I first saw some screenshots from Babylon 5 in a magazine.. been hooked ever since..
Ohh btw, I used 3dstudio a little before I found out about LightWave.

Five years ago I've found a little application on a CD magazine; it was a free 3d program for Macintosh: pixels3d (btw its current version is now 4.5 and it's an interesting app). That hit my curiosity and I felt in love.. Last october I decided to buy lightwave and I moved on the professional side of this wonderful world putting aside my first occupation: musician and sound engineer (even if I still compose a lot of music for ad films..). My target is to join the two things.. maybe in the near future..
