Hey all, want to have a thread for new features we discover and want to share along the way?
One of the features I was most excited about was the "new improved render engine". Loaded a scene into Layout v8, hit F9 and... 4min 23sec Loaded same exact scene into Layout v9, hit F9 and... 2min 12sec. Whoa, this is really un-scientific, but TWICE the speed???:attn: :attn:  to Newtek!!! |

I just downloaded LW9 (will buy the 100$ update bundle when i have some extra cash)
and i got say WOW! The one thing that made me all happy inside is the edge manipulation that LW didn't have before. A must have!!! So many different tools to play around with. I feel like a kid who just got a brand new toy :attn:

I am now upgrading to version 9 ( downloading in progress ). Can't wait to work with it. The beta version was a bit unstable here, so I hope the final version will work better. EDIT: My License key isn't working. If i start lightwave 9 I got the message: Your temporary license key has 14 days remaining. Then i click ok and go to help-->Enter license and fill in my key found in the license.key file. If i click ok I am getting the message: License.Key successfully written. Restart Lightwave to end Discovery Mode! When i do that, i still gett the message: Your temporary license key has 14 days remaining. What am i doing wrong? Can somebody help me with it? Evader, I had some trouble as well. Your LW8 license key won't work. Did you go to your registration page and click this image?

Can't even find the image you are talking about. But i did downloaded the upgrade from: http://www.newtek-europe.com/uk/prod...index_lw9.html
The license key I am using was given me in a file when i installed lightwave 9. I had to use that code to exit evaluation mode. But it isn't working. It is asking me over and over again for the code. EDIT: I think i know what i did wrong, I first needed to register lightawe 9. I've done that, and now waiting for a mail with the permanent license key for lightwave 9. Hope it will work. If not, I will let you know. But it's still strange lightwave tells me to use the code in a file I installed with lightwave 9. Last edited by bullet_evader; 16-07-2006 at 06:35 PM. |

OOPS! Didn't realize you're in Europe. Check this link for Newtek Europe for help.

Thanks for the quick replys towerfan.
But my problem isn't the registration of lightwave. It's just that lightwave won't accept the license key. But as you can read in my previous post, newtek will send me a new key. So let's wait for that first. Thanks for the help though! |

Yea i did get the same bundle but....
This is what Kurtis wrote on one of his threads here at SLW when he told us that LW9 was out * The FREE LightWave v9 electronic upgrade will be available through the NewTek registration system by download. The downloads will include: LightWave v9 Program, Online Help, Content and PDF Manuals. * The LightWave v9 Program CD along with the Content & 3rd Party Bonus DVD will be available for a nominal fee of $19.95US, for those who prefer to have the media. This $19.95 Media Convenience pack comes in the LightWave v9 CD case. * A full LightWave v9 Convenience Upgrade with Program CD, Content & Third Party Bonus DVD and the 3-manual set in the LightWave v9 box is available for $99US. When you pay 100$ they send you LW9 in a box with the manuals on cds and the content on cds (Basically what you got when you ordered LW8.5 but this time its LW9) As for your serial it should have been pre-registered and given to you in the place where you downloaded LW9 (I know mine was there so i didn't have any problems)

I've still got the mails, but there's now such info included. I've got the confirmation I'm registred and I've received my permanent license key.
Problem is we registrated it in the shop were I bought it. And I don't know what I told that guy to use as login and password. And I've tried some combinations without succes. Oh .. just got a mail that I have to open an account. I'll give it a trie jocco |
