I was wondering how to render in lightwave so it looks more like a cartoon than a 3d character. Any help is appreciated.

A good place to start is the Super Cell Shader. Open the texture editor, click on the shaders tab, add Super Cell Shader to your textures. To enhance the look, render the objects' edges. Open the objects' properties, click the render tab, turn on edges. Experimenting with these items is a good start.

Here's a sample using that technique. Only difference between the two is the cell shading, edge renders, and the lighting.

Sorry Frog, I mistyped earlier. Select an object, open the propoerties panel, select the "Edges" tab (not Render), then check the boxes by "Silhouette Edges", "Unshared Edges", etc. Mess around some in this panel and you can get some good looks.
Check out this free tutorial far a wireframe render of the McLaren. Rendering the edges is also a great technique for showing off your models. http://www.simplylightwave.com/movie...tml?tut_id=528
