Default Export from lightwave question

HI,
I am new to lightwave and just getting to understand the ins and outs.I have worked in other modeler programs(Blender and carrara) so i understand the basics but i am having a problem that i cant seem to figure out. I drew a nice organic shape hit tab to smooth i out and when i Export it as a obj it comes in as a square item? Am i Missing a step?do I have to assign the smooth before I export it and if so how do i do that?THankyou

The problem you're seeing is that the object itself is still the square, blocky object you originally modelled. All pressing the Tab key does is tell lightwave to perform subdivision on the surface - this is only viewable within LW itself.

What you need to do is to actually freeze the mesh once it has been subdivided if you are going to export it to another object format.

If you are only going to work on the object within Lightwave itself, then simply save the object (which should save it in the native LWO format) rather than exporting it.

Thankyou

It works perfect now,I knew there was a step i was missing and couldnt seem to figure it out. I thankyou so much. I do like the modeler so far some real nice features like magic beveler, and few others that are really nice and different just takes me some time to get used to. I like to make models for vue and this will help me alot..

THankyou Again...
