Default What would you change in lightwave?

I think there is one of these in the newtek forum, so i thought I would bring one here.

I would like to be able to undo after I save, and have it save my undo steps.

I would like a fur and clothing editor like what pixar used for Monsters Inc. But I could probably hope to win a million dollars first.

I also wish setting up animations was a bit more intuitive, with a realtime IK recorder.

Sigh....

(I love you anyway Lightwave)

I love LW but i think the saving the undo things is a good idea. other than that just keep coming with great improvements

are they going to add some of the new plugins right?

If not then i wish they would include an extra menu with all the new plugins

I'd like to see them update their renderer.

Right now it is god awful slow and it creates artifacts in your images when you use radiosity.

Yep here's just a few of my wants (some of which I suspect will be in L8)...

* Improved GI definitely.
* A proper hair and fur shader included (none of this Lite nonsense)
* A decent dynamics system (roll on L8)
* >5 point patches for subd's
* Proper NURBS
* Multiple undos in Layout.

From the screen shots that have been posted it looks like the whole menu is going to be redone.

Personally I'd like n-gon subpatches too, as well as edges in modeler (I allow you to disagree but only once you have tried an app that uses them ).

Other than that I think [8] will be having many cool things that I've wished for a long time (like super fast rigging that is almost automated and all the dynamics stuff ).

I also agree about having true edges. Maybe something like Wings3D's edges.

The only one i can think of right now is what ive mentioned before about the backdrops.

A switching on/off and or changing opacity quicker... Also opening directly up with your saved lws.

Anyone heard anything more about when we're all going to be able to download [8]?

If Newtek are still aiming for Q4 they're rapidly running out of days...
