Thumbs up Product Illustration :: iMove SVS-2500 Spherical Video System

Hi All,

I work for iMove, Inc. (That name might ring a bell for a couple of you.) We developed a spherical video camera. Recently, I was asked to build a 3D model of it for illustration and promotion purposes. I receieved permission to publish the artwork, so here you go!

(Click here for a super-sized render...)

(Click here for a supersized render + wireframe...)

Here's the other side of the camera:

And here's a closeup:

The polycount is pretty high in this model, but I need to mention that it's meant to survive being rendered for a tradeshow render. I printed it at 17" the other day, and boy did it look nice! Curious at what it looks at print resolution? Have a look at these earlier renders:

(warning: These are a couple of revisions old.)

Enjoy!

[Edit: Oops! Forgot to mention this was rendered with Lightwave 7.5c.]

Ditto DigiMatt. What is that camera used for? I bet it'd be great for HDR images.

Thank you all!

@DigiMatt: Well I can't go into a whole lot of detail. It's good for capturing environmental detail. One of the most interesting uses we've had for it was for mounting it on top of a car and driving around. The resulting footage can be quite useful in giving people an idea of an area without having been there.

@kumar: Hehe I get what you mean. But hey, why not pick up something interesting in your house and make a model of it?
