Thanks sspikedudley. I didn't notice until you mentioned it. Come to think of it, she still need teeth and a tongue as well. Does this never end? ;-)

Roux - Looking very nice. I like the uniform with the Lightwave insignia! I don't know if its the same with your reference, but the mouth looks a little flat to me insofaras the corners of the mouth don't pull back into the face giving the mouth that rounded look. It may well be that your model has a fairly flat mouth anyway, but that's just my observation.

Hey thanks Fallenswordsman. The model does have a relatively flat face but my lack of organic modelling skills has made it far worse.
I took some advice and started trying to work in perspective VP. Here is an update after many tweeks, untweaks and so on and so on. Could really use some pointers on creating an attractive face...help anyone? ![]()

the nose looks a little to wide at the moment i think that is the problem that makes it look ugly and the lips are pinched towards the edges

Thanks sspikedudley!
This is starting to drive me nuts. I think I will start again as I just can't read the topology at all. The more I work, the worse she gets. All help greatfully accepted :-)

next time when you rebuild it try taking the texture of when you render it could help you sort out problem areas and allows people to see the mesh easier

if you try and get your hands on a copy of essential lightwave 7.5 that has a good head modelling chapter in as i had no idea where to start with it now i have just attempted a different head and pulled of a good effort in under an hour if you want to see the head you can build from the book check out the finished works section under just found topic and at the bottom you will see the head i made from the book

And a render. Thanks for the tip too. I will vever try to use the ref image to check my mesh again. I think thats part of my problem in seeing the form.
Here is the new version in good old 120,120,120 grey ![]()

looking good the chin could look better if it were a little longer and i think because it is a little biut short it is making the lips look to fat

looking good but something i notice in that last render is that the ears seem to be to low the ears should be level with the top of the eyes but this may just be the viewpoint of that render

Thanks sspikedudley. I think its a cobination of the model having the head tilted slightly back , the camera angle and they are just slightly lower than the brow.
Not so noticeable with hair anyway. Here's another update. Anyone know of a good tutorial for teeth& gums?
