I am an intermediate lightwave user and am making an animation of some factory robotic like equipment and trying to find the best way to do hydraulic lines that are attach to two objects, anchored to both, but must flexible so as one object moves, the lines bend and flexes correctly. Using bones obvious in the line, but how to I anchor both ends, etc. I tried the Rope rig plug-in, but couldn’t get it to work right. Please help with suggestions.

Well 57, I would like to take a shot at this, I might try IK on the hose (Bones)with one end using a goal that is parented to the other object. Problem with that, much more intense animating and keeping the goal strength high enough without causing more problems
OR maybe even better: make the hose a clothFX object with fixed points on either object problem with that is keeping the hose from collapsing on itself; although there is a way to prevent that but it escapes me at the moment :p

Under displacement for the object add Spline Control and try and mess with that. Its good for ropes tentacles and such.

instead of clothFX try with softbody, for tube and similar can work good and faster than clothFX
