those two are awesome dude! only in the last one the antialiasing should be higher... me thinks

very good pictures wozz ! i like them. What about a very simple background ? Maybe just a gradient with some noise... cool !

Looks good.
How about taking down some of the green?
For a background I would just play with the texture enviorment till I get something cool that fits.

Beautiful work. I still like the bioluminescent look of the second image, but overall (with that much in the scene) the first looks cleaner.

As well as adding a background to the scene I would look at putting some pretty heavy DoF into it. Think of a typical microscope image. Everything at the focal point is in really sharp focus, but things become blurred extremely quickly.

I think it's cool that you have quite a bit of those nervous cells but how about spreading it out a bit (towards the back)?
You can also make the back ones less detailed if you are afraid of long render times.
