hey mtmckinley when you gonna stop modeling yourself?

this month is exactly the type of competition i should be entering, why on earth did you make it decembers comp, i dont have time this month, my bday, my bro's bday, new year and of course the much awaited time of year that involves lots of binge drinking.

pluss december is university assignment deadline month, i cannot enter (even though i did start, and have done some work on game model animation this month).

good luck to all that do

doublerr - No backgrounds are required. If you have to do any touchups in photoshop or whatever, keep them minimal.

techi - I'm not sure I understand the question about when I'm going to stop modeling. As for the time frame, I realize many people don't have a lot of time in December, but that's why these comps run for 2 months rather than 1. Hope you all have time!

PRIZE UPDATE!

Hey, guys, I think I'm going to make a special case this time, since I'm the one providing the book part of the Grand Prize and nix the minimum number of entries...

Yep! 2 signed books WILL be given out no matter what!

HOWEVER

This only applies if the winners accept the book that I'm providing (ie. MY book ). If they would rather have another book (understandable for SL and SMax's case since it's a Maya book) I'm going to have to go back to the minimum entries (8 norm or 5 noob) because then it would the Simply3DWorld site paying for it.

So, yes, even if only 1 person finishes in each category, they'll get the prize... but c'mon... don't let them have it that easily, will ya!? :p

Sound fair? Let me know what you think.

Another good example of a lower-poly model has been made public recently and I thought I'd link it here. This model is 3988 Triangles, 1x 1024x1024 texture: colour/spec/bump.
