Well yoru scene is actually headed in the right direction. All you have to do is add some hdri lighting aand youd have a pretty darn realistic saber. But i still dont get the fear and loathing of this saber?

give the green laser some self-illumination ( i think you call it like that ) you can do that in the surface window by giving luminosity a value of 0 to 100. With radiosity turned on, this can give very cool results.

i like what you got so far but the chrome and gold are a little grainy looking try to smooth the look some more and it will add more realism to your piece. also where is the fear and loathing? lmao just kidding i did read your post on what the plans are lol :p

Wow! It's coming along nicely now! - don't worry, I dig your concept! Before you mentioned adding the helmet, I thought it would be cool to add Vader's severed hand, with all the burnt wires sticking out the wrist, after Luke chops it off at the end of Jedi. Kinda like a "what happened to it after" shot.

Crank up that Luminosity like Bullet_Evader suggested, and turn on glow in the Surface Editor Advanced tab and the Ctrl-f8 Effects panel to get some saber glow happening [it will give you something like this - see pic]!

Cheers! priimate.

Also, to set luminosity at higher than 100%, just type in a number higher than 100%!
