PS... the Orchid could also be lit by HDRI's..... but you learn to model a more organic and detailed model.....refractions could also be used with water droplets on the delicate petals.....

I'm voting for setting up a space scene / planet, moon and stars and nebula too. I need that for my Defiant Animation. I know very little on how to create the perfect star field and planets with the atmospheric clouds and so forth.
I would like to see that tutorial very much. Common Phil help me out here! I need your support!

Talking How about this....

How about a tutorial on setting up a space scene where an asteriod w/smoke trail falls out of space, over a sea into a fishbowl with goldfish, plants, treasure chest, rendered with HDRI reflections and refractions that shatters cutting the head off an orchid.

Anyone? Bueller.....Bueller......

no no, an orchid, hit by an asteroid from Krypton, develops super-strengths and throws the fishbowl into deep space... the goldfish however, manages to get out of his bowl in time, and since he's been touched by the orchid, he turns all green and bad when he gets angry from now on. So he starts chasing the cat, which in turn, is seeking asylum in a mousehole...

meanwhile the martians find a strange transparent artifact on the surface of their planet. They study it for a week and finally, by accident one of them ends up with teh fishbowl over his head. They realize that this is the last thing they needed to get their space program going. (all previous experiments ended with the testpilot's head exploding)

so they start manufacturing fishbowls and are on their way to invade our planet.

Unhappy For the tut...

Personally, I think that the bowlfish tut is not the best for us. I mean, in fact it's just simple objects, and a HDRI render that we could find on any tutorials sites...

I think tutorials B & C might be interesting due to the particles effects, and other things like that... I think there is more work on lights in these tuts than the bowlfish tut...

But, it's just a suggestion, nothing more... Cya =)

I just wanted to say Thank you to everyone who participated in this tutorial vote. It was really fun to see what people liked or thought of the different tutorials. I for one am very excited to see this tutorial later as all of Philips tutorials are exciting and fun and educational. DKM you never know what you will learn in a tutorial I am sure there are many good lessons in this one and mabye a few surprizes. I know whenever I start a new tutorial I know its better to not try and guess how its gonna go cause I always learn more than I expected to.

I think it was very successful in shareing with the members some of the decision makeing fun.

/me turns the ass kissing on........I would also like to thank Philip for agreeing to try this little experiment of mine. Thank you Philip for all your hard work here you benefit many people with your knowledge........./me turns the ass kissing off.
