Hi all, i am just doing render tests to get the best pic i can. Have had some funny results. The scene takes about 11-13hrs to render, remembering that there are 16500 polys only in the dinos heads and i have 3 in the scene. I think they are a shade under 20000 polys each.
Anyway i will post another render as soon as i get it the way i want. |

11 - 13 HOURS!!!! Wow!! Well, its been going good so far and i guess it'll be worth the wait! Try doing quickshade renders for tests... it might come a little faster, it think... But howcome u got 16k polys only for the head and only 4k for the body?

Look back over the early pics then the one that shows just after i put the detail in the head, then the mouth, throat and tongue added heaps as well. The head was metaformed at one stage which added a heap of polys. no good for animations but good detail for a still.
I am working with heads atm and i am learning how to reduce polys better than i did in the dino model. |

Im wondering why the renders are so longs... do you have a lot of special features added. i.e. Radiosity, Luminosity. etc. Or something else.
I have tried to take my P III, 128 MB RAM, 933 MHz to the limit by rendering a Million Polygons and the renders only took about 17 mins.

Maybe u should turn off radiosity and try to fake it with aera lights. A good render is always possible without rad & co.

Beautiful render dude. One crit though...I know you have the same model in different parts of the render but the main problem is that they have the same expression. If you can, can you change maybe one or two of them to have their mouth closed? It will get rid of the sameness.
Carry on!!

Yeah they are all the same so i went back and made the small dino shut its mouth, but not fully. The other 2 i left alone. i put alot effort into the mouth so i kept the other 2 open. Let me know what you think. thx
