yes you can adjust all of that in AE it is pretty much like PS

hi, ive been puting away money for a while now and i got a we bit over Xmas aswell, im going to post 3 PC that i can afford the now. the PC's are mainly for lightwave and photoshop work, so if ppl would like to pic which 1 they like from the list and also which 1's are maybe not so good for lightwave :p

Hmm, there's not a whole lot to choose from between the two. Personally, I'd be tempted by machine #1 as it appears to have greater expansion possibilities for the future...

just out of interest, what sort of machines are u all using ?

and do u think the above spec machines will make lightwave run really well ?

My budget is about £600, if anybody knows good sites or even some advice to get the most for my money im all ears ! :p

im having trouble with the aeroshell, i just cant get it to look right in the dark space, i was thinking about using a HDRI map then thought u wouldnt get reflections like that in space......ehh any suggestions ?

It really depends on whether you want it lit realistically (in which case, you'll see very little of the probe), or theatrically (á la Star Wars, etc)...

If its the latter you're after then take a look at Kier D'Arby's Betterspace series - there's an excellent page on lighting spacecraft (http://www.ap3d.com/betterspace)

here is the approach scene, the aeroshell heads towards mars, the camera then changes to a closer view were we se it burn up as it enters the atmosphere ( working on that the now, good thing is i can use my smoke setting for the launch scene with slight modifications :p ) ill have updates soon :p

what u think ?

Would it be realistic to add a very thin dusty atmosphere to Mars?

Sort of a slight redish haze surrounding the planet.

Just an idea. I'm not sure if an atmosphere is even visible on Mars.

After a bit of hageling with the guy at my nearest computer store, i have manage to get this for the same price as above, what do u think of this system for 3D ?

Hmm... try this link for the atmosphere guidelines - it doesn't require you to invest in any 3rd party plugins...
