PoolPlay Finished
Okay, I had to rap this thing up.. cant fiddle around with it forever, besides Im quite satisfied with it now..
I found a velvet shader which I used for the table felt, also changed it to blue cause I think it looks better colorwise. I might pick this up again and add some scratches and markings on the balls but for now I consider it done. Thanks for all comments and suggestions in WIP area everyone. //Matt |

good job man, its only apitty the pic is that much dotted. Do you have it compressed to much or is it the rendering that did it??
I think you lost a lot of detail this way and it makes the pic look less perfect. would it be possible to remove those irritant dots and post an other pic? I would like to see the shiny parts of the balls more, which now is impossible due to the stranges dottes. Dont get me wrong on this, I like the pic very much. An other question : did u use a bump map with the velvet texture on the tablen its not clear to see, but maybe you could give it a little more bump. I guess it would look even more realistic, because the bump is now really not visible. Just a thought and you do with it what ever you want to do. keep us moderated wozz |

Sorry about the doublepost everyone.. my conection was giving me a hard time over here..
Wozzyke: The dotting thing is definatly a compression thing.. I dont know why but I saved it as GIF, heres a .jpg version, hope that works better.. the .tif works best but its too large to post here.. Will put up a link to it if your interested though. There is a bumpmap applied to the tablefelt texture but perhaps I should raise the value a bit.. well, heres the jpg //Matt |

question, why are you posting only the upper half of the pic? when I click the lonk I see only the upper half of it, and it seems that its a non antialiased version, could tat be possible?
please pst the link to the tiff, or check the picture you just posted and let me know if its only me who can see the upper half of it. wozz |

wozzyke: I dont know why that is.. perhaps the image is too large and that is why its cut in half.
heres a link to it though http://213.80.115.86/PoolPlay_Tif.tif and http://213.80.115.86/Poolplay_jpg_2.jpg //Matt |

Hmm... I really like the pic but I think it could look even better if you chose a more dramatic camera angle. As it is now, IMO, the camera is too high and that gives a somewhat flat impression.
I'd try lowering the camera, moving it slightly to the left and bring it closer to the balls. Great work and "Heja Sverige" =) |

Ops, didn' see it... so forget my last post in WIP area..:p
Yes it looks really good now. If you are going to change the camera angle don't forget some DOF and shoul be perfect..

Buco: Thanks, my intensions were to let go of this project now but it seems I keep coming back to it so right now Im experimenting with differnt light setups to 'fake' GI since the real GI took forever and a day to render.. When I find a setup Im satisfied with I will be sure to add dof and see how it turns out.
Thanks for suggestion //Matt |
