Toys - "Foozball"
Finally made a decision about what to model... not sure what you guys call this in your part of the world, but I'm used to calling this toy a "Foozball Table".
Going to keep the layers separated and use moved pivot points to bring this whole thing together. Still have to model the table and all the little details. I'm not an organic modeler at all so the heads of my "players" really s*ck big time. Lemme know what you guys think. Cheers! - Möe

oh yes, good idea and good progressing. How much for a game (as soon as the ball is modeled)?

well man, no problems with that, it's all about learning and testing, and improving so I will learn and improve and once I'll beat you like you've never been beaten before. BTW the model looks really cool and yes also the heads but in real life they have ugly heads too, beleive me they are made as they were mine (=UGLY) keep up the good work man, once u'll model organics too!!! love it wozz |

Hey Moe, lookin' good. Can't wait to see the whole table together.
How are you planning on making the rest - as a kids toy table or as a proper pub style table? |

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone.
LOL@Wozz... thanks for the heads up, buddy. A good beating from you would be a pleasure. My subpatch modeling skills could use a LOT of practice (maybe in the next life time). buco... oops... thanks for the reminder... I almost forgot about the ball. Mark, I was thinking that I would do it as a proper pub style table. Will post an update by tonight (including a close-up of the horrible heads). Cheers! - Möe

Here's an update of the "foozball" table I'm making.
Aside from the stuff that's obviously still missing (like the ball, backside of goal for ball return, the rod grips, the springs, holes in the sides and the table legs), there are a few things that need correcting. The table is a bit too narrow internally. The overall table width might be decent, but the width of the playing pitch could get wider. The border lines of the penalty box could be adjusted as well. The players feet are a bit too high off the playing pitch, need to bring those down a little more. Some of these tables have a clear acrylic top (with a hole in the center), do you think I should add that in? There is no texture work on this model yet, just a bunch of colors. I wish I could do real character modeling, cause it would be fun to replace these players with actual well known football players. :p Let me know what you think. Cheers! - Möe

Uao, a BIG update. And as woozyke said the heads in reality are less detailed then you did so I could not mind too much..

Here's another update...
Made all the corrections I was rambling about. :p I've added the holes to the sides of the table; the ball return at the ends of the table; some rubber bumpers; and did some quick image maps for a simple render. Still need to get some springs and bumpers modeled, a ball and the grips for players. I'm undecided on whether or not I should do a clear acrylic top to this table. Please let me know what you think. Cheers! - Möe

Here's another view... I should be done with this in a couple of days. Chinese New Year is coming up and I wanted to get this out of the way.
Cheers! - Möe
