You should try to find a tutorial that suites you well.
There is one on this site, one on the NewTek site, two on the LWG site... There exist more but these are the great ones.

The advantage of the one on this site is that it is a video tutorial which alows you to understand it better and you can see the whole process being done. For a biginer I think that can help alot.

Here at this site is full of it, and I agree 100% with Kvaalen.... See it happend is better than a 1000 words.

You should see my progress since I start visiting here, I not just found great artist and great people, but found my way to finally create something.

One of the works at the gallery, I posted how hard is to believe that the work is made in 3d and not a picture taken.

Follow the free tuts found here, and I bet that you will agree with us.

BTW, Your speaker came out great, in special been your first render. It make it more valuable than any other you will do.

Lewis's car modelling tutorial is a pretty good start point

http://www.lwg3d.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14554

Then Unknown Limit has done one as well:

You can see Lewis's work in the gallery section here at SimplyLightwave and Unknown Limit is currently working on another BMW in the WIP section here.

All the ones I mentioned are free other than the one on this site, but the first part is free.
