Default Lightwave learning.

First of all hello to people on this forum, I’m intending to use this quite alot so il probably get to know quite a few of you.

I left collage and went straight into a video production firm which after a year or two decided to get lightwave in and issue me with the job of learning it.
Unfortunately for me I’ve never had any training really on it, and have picked what I know up from an inside lightwave book and net tutorials.

Sometimes this gets very frustrating, as I really want to become an accomplished Lightwave user, and trying to achieve certain effects I have difficulty with.

So my first question really is if anyone can point me in a good direction in how to widen my lightwave skills.

Cheers

Luxor.

Hmm wait and see what others have to say... I am also interested to know.

Start with some of the free tutorials on this site to get yourself orientated with Lightwave. Then move on to some of the more advanced ones such as the Lava Lamp, Creature Feature, Strat, etc.

Also, dig around in Modeller and Layout in your spare time - search through all the menus and really get to know all the tools that are available to you - just playing around with primitive shapes so you can get a feel for the tools full effect.

Finally, post your work up here for (constructive) criticism and comment - we won't bite (much)

Thanks for the advice guys I appreciate it.
Well I have my first dilemma that you might be able to help me with.

· I’m trying to create a particle (Ball) bouncing off a surface.

1. 2. 3.
O (Particle) O(Away)
O(Bounces)
---------- ------------ ---------

I’ve set the scene up using Motion designer

Using the Ball as the Target and the platform (surface) as the collision.
When I run MD the ball hits the surface but instead of bouncing away from the surface the ball compresses into the surface.

O
_
------------------ -----------------

Does anybody know where I might be going wrong??

When I have it right I want multiple particles bouncing off the floor then off a ceiling

Oh can anyone also explain how I add an avatar (image under my post name)

Cheers
