Lightbulb March/April-Colto-Noob

Hey everybody! I just stumbled over this contest last night and I am very excited. I'll send in my concept soon (not done drawing it yet, and I really suck at drawing). But it involves an acient advanced civilization that lives on an island and uses glowing orbs or crystals(not sure which yet, any ideas?) to power their city and it's machines. I am starting this challenge with only 1 month left, ahhhhhh! But if I hurry I think I can finish. Pics comin' soon!

Go for it Colto. Only one month left, but still plenty of time to get something in.

Welcome to the group, and good luck with the challenge.

Lightbulb Concept

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been on in a while, schoolwork as been a huge pain. I just finished my concept and have started my model. However, less than 5 minutes after I finished my concept I got a totally new idea for my entry. Here is my first concept and I am not going to make a second concept do to the complexity of the picture.(I am gonna do an ancient civilization built into a mountainside. The entire structure will be made of bamboo and wood, maybe some leaf or straw roofs too!) Anyway here is the first concept....it looks like crap.

It may have only taken ten minutes but it looks pretty good and with less than a month to go you need to know how to model fast anyway! Best of luck with it all!

Darn that land came up quick enough! Hope the land is going to have enough flat areas for the buildings though.

Looking nice. The texture for the land is a bit spotty. It'd look more believable to have the sand at the edges (ala a beach).
