Default texture map trouble

i carnt figure out how to correctly uv map a model, like this i have tryed the atlas but it makes it far too complex and i carnt do much with it. i especcially want to get the head similar to it in the top right

also is there any way in lightwave i can save the map to a picture file similar to that so i can use that to make the texture so i can accurately get things in correct place because i always always get it wrong

What kind of model are you trying to UV Map? is it in SubD or Poly mode?

If it was SubD then you should UV Map it with Cylinder mode instead of Atlas.

Then i would think that atlas is the best solution... however there might be a better way that i dont know yet.

You might want to use the UV imaginatior plugin to save the required image. Although i think there should be one by default,,, save viewport image or so,,, not too sure try looking at the additional stuff. But i use UV imaginator... Only problem is that if you use the blank map and then adding the polys in method it cant save the map till you set a value to it. You can find it on flay.com

Good Luck,
Kumar
