Default Pages turning

Hello,
I am trying to create a thick book thats pages are turning over quickly. I can create this (crudly using weight maps, but only on a flat book, the thickness of the spine is knocking me off, and the fact that the cover folds over about 10mm before the spine, if that makes any sense. I know that using lag helps with the realness of it but i just need some help.
any would be muchly appreciated.
Thankyou
