Default 5 point poly problems

ok well im working on the mclaren tutorial and i must say the instruction thus far is outstanding and enjoying thanx phillip .ok now on to the question !!

i have been trying to get rid of this ugly 5 point poly but im not having very much luck since im a newb this is where and what i have

Don't think its a five point poly, its just a point where five polygons meet. If its there in the tutorial, I would keep watching for the part when Philip removes it, otherwise spinquad?

They are not a problem unless they show up in rendering. Sometimes they show up in rendering sometimes they dont. If they show up in rendering Philip will removeing them by spinquads or restructuring the area.

Try it it spins the layout of two adjacent 4 sided polygons. The best way to learn what tools do is to play with it. Dont save the model though if you mess it up.
