Angry smooth shift in symmetry mode

hi all, sorry cause my english sucks.... I'm modelling a face and I'm using symmetry mode to make the left and the right side symmetrical. but the problem is after using smoothshift on some polygons, that polygons are not behaving like in symmetry mode. ( when Im dragging some points in that polygons, the opposite points don't change at all.) while other points and polygons still act normally in symmetry mode.... how to use smooth shift on some polygons but I still can have the symmetry mode in that polygons.... (do you get what I'm trying to say?) thanks....

try cutting the face in half if you can e.g. () to ) then work on just the one half, any polys that cross over the middle do not cut.

at the end you mirror the half making sure you have join points set, this will give you a symetrical model, it also mirrors any UV maps too

thx for the tips... I'm doing my work that way right now.... so there's no way I can edit my model after using smooth shift? it bugs me that every time I use smooth shift I have to cut the other side and mirror the other side again to see is my model taking shape the way I want it....

i just work on one half in the first layer, copy that into layer 2 and mirror that, means i dont have to delete the other half again.
