Talking General Electric M680

It's for a game I'm making. Still needs textures and animation but the barrel and motor are going to be done through programming.

This first image was just layered in paintshop of battlfield 1942.

I love alpha maps. The belt feed is going to have a texture on it instead of actual geometry. Along with a bumpmapped*normalmap it will definetly be enough.

Do you guys know of any good animation books? I suck at animation horribly.

Also, if you care, it's something like ~3500 triangles but I made it in quads.

I'm creating my own engine from scratch (pretty much).
For technoledgy, I want to incorporate everything that I can including normal mapping, bump mapping (world geometry) and Advanced Stencil Shadow with Penumbral Wedge Rendering among many other things.

That was wrong. :p

I saw that screen and thought "What?! When did someone come out with a BF1942 export plugin for Lightwave?"

Anyway, nice model.

You have a nice game terrain there (as well as the gun). I'm working on a game right now and this is inspiring me!

Keep it up.

Actualy that's not my terrain engine...Mine's better.
That is the Refractor 2 Engine designed by Digital Illusions CE.
They use patching for thier system but I'm not sude if they use patch occoulsion. I'm sure they do but alot of the time it doesn't seem like that. I also have triple texture alpha patching with a detail texture. I want to add at least a dual alpha detail patching (for roads and such) and maybe even sub pixle map terrain patching (kinda like lightwave's sub patching, but for terrains). but that's still far ahead.
