Default Weights question

I modeled this orc for a friend and have rigged/weighted him on one side of his body. My question is how can i duplicated some of the weights yet have a different name for them on the other side of the body. ie: R_Foot, R_Shin.
If i mirror his body it will give me both feet under the L_Foot option. Same goes for all the other weights.
I know it's possible yet i don't know how to do it. Please help

Alright scratch that. I found the answer to my problem. I just needed to copy vertex maps and then clear maps on each side of his body.
