Default Site Changes

It has been requested many times for a General Chat area and a place for people to post other sites etc..

so after chatting to Philip and Dave we have decided to give you what you want so:

1. The irc chat will stay
2. A Members Lounge will be added
3. A links database will be added so you can add tutorial / artists / blueprint links
4. A Battle area will be added like the one on SM that I opened today
5. The Artist Hosting packages are soon to be released.

I hope with these additional features the site will start to live a little more - any questions then ask away

I just read the rules for the Battle Area in the SM site, so only two can battle?
Does it have to be very long (Like 30 days)? Or is it possible to have a 5 day or a weekend challenge/battle?

And there is going to be a SimplyChallenge.com site too!?! Cool!

Kvaalen: only 2 people / battle, but alot of battles can be going on simultaneously..
The challenger sets the time period of the battle.

I think there were discussion on SM to have the battles on simply3dworld so battles between programs can take place, ie. Lightwave vs. Maya and so on.. but Im not sure about that.

cheers

yep your dead right digi.

The battle are between 2 people, or if you want ot get together in groups then thats great also..

and yep there will be a simplychallenge.com going up soon as well as the http://www.simply3dworld.com site

The challenge one will show all the challenges and battles from all the simply sites plus there will be an area so you can battle each other ie: simplymaya vs simplylightwave

ding ding...round 1

Simplymaya vs Simplylightwave?
Maybe, but I think that SM has more people and therefore a bigger choise of pros to choose from.

Something I think would be cool but I don't know how possible it is is to have a mixture, Maya and LW guys working together.
I know many people here would probably be against it.

Its just a fun way to learn, dont think it as a maya against lightwave, think it as hundrees of people into 3d just learning.

It will be great mate! you will see plus with this board having a members are soon I can garentee that the member count will sky rocket very quickly

How about as an introduction) - a non-contrived (i.e. not fixed) Maya vs. Lightwave featuring Kevin and Philip?

I for one would like to see this. (purley from a scientific point of view you all understand????)
