Default unknown problem with geomatry

Hi,

Please see attached jpeg.

My geomatry looks normal. The normals are all facing in the correct direction. There seems to be no hidden edges. It all seems correct. But then when i go to subpatch it doesnt smooth out correctly as demonstrated in picture.

Any ideas? I could just start again but i would like to know for future reference how to get out of these situations.

Thanks, Matt

It looks like you've either got faces selected (therefore not subP'ing all poys) or you've got single vertex polys maybe.

Attach the lwo and I'll take a look.

make sure you have polygons selected in the bottom

you can goto the info panel
edit - goto the statistics panel

click on the "+" next to faces options and all faces will be selected
then hit "tab"

deselect everything hit "tab" again

yeah it looks like when you selected the polys you didn't select some.

thanks,

It turned out i had more than one point at some of the corners so the polygons in effect were more tha 4 sided
