Default cloth partcle emitter

I'm trying to catch a flag's logo on fire while it waves around. I have given the flag surface a map of the same sequence the particle birth rate has. the logo lights up perfectly, and the particles look perfect. the problem is that even though i have the emitter being the flag's surace, it doesn't match the cloth movement. it just sits still like the flag isn't moving. but the particles are there. if i simulate, the particles are never born. I've tried numerous things,(separate emitters, hardlinks, object type) but it still won't work.

Have you tried to make the object vertices the nozzles instead of the surface?
It might work....
Anyway....my 2 cents

when i tried that, the particles disappeared and could not be calculated. My object is a sub-d object but i have tried to do it with a polygonal object as well. still nothing.
